Ian Gualavisi was brutally stabbed in the back on December 14, 2021, while working at the Rincon Costen Restaurant in Elephant and Castle. The attacker was described as wearing a “unforgettable” fluorescent green jacket and a motorcycle helmet. Tragically, Ian died in his father’s arms following the assault.
Since the stabbing, police have arrested six people linked to Ian’s murder. On June 10 at 5.31pm, British Transport Police detained a 20-year-old man at Edmonton Green station. He was handed over to detectives in Lewisham and released on bail pending further investigation.
Earlier arrests include two 24-year-olds who were questioned shortly after the stabbing and later released under investigation. In May, four more males aged between 16 and 21 were arrested and bailed as the investigation widened.
The Metropolitan Police continue to investigate the savage stabbing that claimed Ian’s life at just 20 years old. Ian was attacked around 7.45pm at the South East London restaurant where he worked. The man detained by British Transport Police was wanted for conspiracy to murder and remains in custody for further questioning.
