Hiding in the Loft! Nottingham Man Nabbed for GBH and Drug Dealing

Police in Nottinghamshire caught a suspect hiding in a loft during a brazen early morning raid in Arnold. The 20-year-old, wanted for a brutal GBH offence, thought he could escape justice by stashing himself above the bedroom – but officers weren’t having it.

Early Morning Search Ends in Surprise Loft Discovery

On Thursday 10 August at around 8.40am, Nottinghamshire Police arrived at an address on Worrall Avenue, Arnold, hunting a man linked to a serious assault on 26 July. Let into the property, officers quickly searched the premises.

Behind a first-floor bedroom, they found a tiny loft hatch. Despite calling out, no one replied. When they climbed up, the suspect was found tucked away in his dressing gown, lying beside the water tank trying to stay hidden.

Cash, Cannabis and More Found in Loft Hideout

The police haul didn’t stop at the man. Nearby, they discovered a black jacket stuffed with cash and a black JD Sports drawstring bag packed with cannabis and more money. Even more incriminating – a mobile phone concealed under a wooden floorboard.

Double Trouble: Arrest for Both GBH and Drug Supply

The 20-year-old was arrested not only for the GBH offence but also on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply – a serious Class B drug charge.

“This suspect thought he could evade police by hiding in a loft but unfortunately for him it didn’t pay off,” said Sergeant Mark Westlake from Operation Reacher.

“Thanks to a brilliant team effort between patrols and the Radford Road Operation Reacher crew, we caught him red-handed.”

“We now have enough evidence to press charges for drug dealing as well. Further investigations will uncover the full scale of his operation.”

Nottinghamshire Police’s swift action sends a clear message: there’s nowhere to hide when the law’s coming for you.
