Girls Flee Axe-Wielding Man in West Wickham
On March 17, a chilling encounter unfolded near Eden Park roundabout. Around 5.30pm, a local mother revealed her daughters were running through West Wickham when they spotted a man wearing a motorbike helmet, his face hidden by a scarf.
Man Approaches Carrying Large Axe
The man was reportedly carrying a large axe and started to approach the girls. Terrified, they bolted to a nearby Co-op and called the police immediately.
Police Search Ends Empty
The mother drove her daughters home and soon after saw three police cars rushing past. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed officers were dispatched to South Eden Park Road after the weapon report. Despite a thorough search, no suspect or weapon was found.
“Police were called on Friday, 17 March to a report of a man with a weapon on South Eden Park Road,” said a spokesperson. “Officers responded and searched the area, but nothing was discovered.”
