Angry Passenger Spits at Conductor on Winson Green Tram

British Transport Police have launched a hunt for a man involved in a nasty assault on a tram at Winson Green stop on August 10. The drama unfolded around 4.30pm as the tram sped from Wolverhampton to Birmingham city centre.

Ticket Row Turns Ugly

It all kicked off when a passenger was caught with an invalid ticket. The conductor followed the rules and asked him to buy a proper ticket or get off. The passenger refused and tensions boiled over.

“The irate passenger spat at the conductor before storming off at the next stop,” a police source said.
