Chaos erupted on North End Road, Erith, at around 10:15am on September 30 after a cyclist was struck by a lorry. Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of a major collision.
Cyclist Battles for Life in Hospital
The cyclist, a man, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say his condition is critical, with no improvement yet.
Lorry Driver Remains at Scene, No Arrests Made
The lorry driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating fully with officers. No arrests have been made so far as investigations continue.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 10.13hrs on Tuesday, 30 September to reports of a collision between a cyclist and a lorry on North End Road, Erith. The cyclist, a man, was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition. The lorry driver stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made. Road closures remain in place.”
