Police were scrambled to Ashford Walk, Chadderton, Oldham at 10.50am on Monday 12 April 2021 after reports of a brutal double stabbing inside a property.
A 21-year-old man allegedly stabbed two people following a dispute. A 34-year-old man was rushed to hospital with multiple stab wounds and remains in critical condition. A 42-year-old woman suffered facial injuries and has since been discharged.
The attacker fled on foot before police arrived. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Officers have sealed off the scene on Ashford Walk as inquiries continue.
“Two people have been injured as a result of this attack, one of whom is currently in critical condition undergoing surgery,” said Detective Chief Inspector Wes Knights of GMP’s Oldham CID. “This behaviour was vicious and brutal, and will not be tolerated.”
“We understand this incident will cause concern locally but we urge anyone with information to come forward and help us swiftly trace the suspect.”
