Faringdon Man Released Under Investigation After Shocking Roadside Assault
Thames Valley Police are hunting witnesses after a nasty assault unfolded on the A34 near Botley.
Road Rage Sparks Violence on A34
It all kicked off just after 3.30pm on Thursday, May 9th. Two drivers – one in a white Mitsubishi Outlander and the other in a blue Toyota CHR – clashed while cruising through the 50mph zone on the busy A34.
Both cars peeled off at the Botley Interchange northbound slip road before crashing into each other. Tempers flared when the Mitsubishi driver jumped out and launched a brutal attack on the other driver, kicking him in the stomach and headbutting him.
Victim Injured but Avoids Hospital
The victim, a 53-year-old man, ended up with a cut lip and bruises but thankfully didn’t need hospital treatment.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
PC Mark Russell from Didcot police station said:
“I am appealing for anybody who was near the A34 slip road last Thursday afternoon and saw what happened to get in touch. This happened during a busy time, so I believe plenty of people saw it.”

Suspect Arrested and Released Under Investigation
A 64-year-old man from Faringdon was arrested on suspicion of assault causing injury. He has now been released under investigation as the inquiry continues.
