Hampshire Police are investigating a stabbing incident in Lymington after a 52-year-old man was attacked in a dark alley late on 30 July.

The stabbing occurred at approximately 10.10pm in the alleyway between Kings Crescent and Samber Close. The victim was quickly taken to hospital and is currently in a stable condition.

Police have established cordons at two locations near the scene of the attack. A significant police presence is expected in the area throughout the day as the investigation continues.

A 35-year-old man from Lymington has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He remains in police custody while inquiries are ongoing.

Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Hampshire Police on 101, quoting reference 44180288536. In case of an emergency, the public is advised to dial 999 immediately.
