Witnesses say the clash quickly spiraled into chaos. One gang member tried to fend off an attacker wielding a machete using a chair. In the confusion, an elderly man waiting for a bus was struck in the head by the blade. Emergency crews from the London Ambulance Service treated him at the scene before rushing him to a major trauma centre. His condition remains unknown.
