Violent Robbery Shakes New Ferry Streets
Merseyside Police are hunting a gang after a brutal robbery on New Chester Road in New Ferry in the early hours of Friday, September 22. The victim, a man in his 30s, was attacked by five men in their 20s around 1:30am.
Four of the attackers came on foot, while one rode a red mountain bike. The victim suffered a slash to the side of his face before fleeing to a nearby block of flats. But the gang chased him down and assaulted him again, stealing his top and mobile phone.
Police Dog Yoko Sniffs Out Crucial Evidence
Following the horrific assault, the thugs fled toward New Ferry. Officers scrambled to the scene and, with the help of Police Dog Yoko, recovered a knife believed to be linked to the crime. Forensic tests are underway.
Call for Witnesses as Police Ramp Up Knife Crime Crackdown
Community Inspector Daniel Greenhalgh urged anyone with information to come forward. “If you witnessed the attack or have footage from dash-cams, doorbells, or mobile phones, please contact us. We need to identify these offenders,” he said.
Inspector Greenhalgh praised Yoko’s efforts and vowed the police will keep targeting knife crime relentlessly. “We’re committed to using all tactics — stop and search, warrants, and education — to keep Merseyside safe,” he added.
