Teen Weapons Gang Busted in Elson Lane Standoff
Police swooped on a group of youths in Elson Lane on Sunday afternoon, March 26, after reports of a weapons-fuelled altercation.
Four Teens Arrested with Weapons
At 3.25pm, officers arrived to find the gang reportedly armed. They quickly contained a nearby house and arrested four youngsters inside: two 14-year-old boys, a 16-year-old boy, and a 14-year-old girl.
During searches, police seized air weapons, Airsoft gear, a knife, and hammers. All four are held on suspicion of possession of imitation firearms with intent to cause fear. They remain in custody.
More Youths Stopped and Dispersed
While handling the scene, officers stopped and searched three more boys aged 14 and 15 nearby. Following intelligence, police used a dispersal order under the Anti-social Behaviour Act to clear the area.
This dispersal order stays active until 4.40pm on Tuesday, March 28. It bans return visits to the area, with breach punishable by arrest.
