Five Suffer Suspected Heroin Overdoses in Welwyn Garden City
Police were called out just after 10pm yesterday to a grim scene in Peartree Lane, Welwyn Garden City. A man had collapsed inside a home following a suspected drug overdose. While medics treated him, three more men suddenly fell ill in the same building.
All four men were rushed to hospital by ambulance, believed to be suffering heroin overdoses.
Another Overdose Strikes Early Friday Morning
Just after midnight, paramedics alerted officers that a fifth man had collapsed from a suspected overdose at an address in Knella Road, Welwyn Garden City. He too was taken to hospital for urgent care.
Police Warn of Rising Overdose Cases Across England
Inspector Spencer Neil said: “Earlier this week, Public Health England (PHE) warned of a sharp rise in overdoses linked to drug use across England. While there’s no proof yet these Welwyn Garden City cases connect to others nationwide, I urge anyone using heroin to be extremely cautious about what they’re taking and how much.”
