Head-On Horror in Gamston Leaves One Man Fighting for Life
Two cars crashed head-on on Gamston’s Lings Bar Road at around 6.30pm on Saturday, February 18. The smash sent shockwaves through the quiet area and left one driver critically injured.
Injuries and Arrests
Occupants of a Land Rover escaped with minor injuries and were taken to hospital for checks. But the driver of a Ford Fiesta, a 28-year-old man, suffered potentially life-changing injuries and was also rushed to hospital.
He has now been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit through alcohol or drugs.
Police Hunt for Witnesses and Dash-Cam Footage
Nottinghamshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit is urgently appealing for anyone who saw the smash or has dash-cam footage to come forward.
“This was an incredibly dangerous incident that thankfully didn’t result in anyone losing their life,” said PC Phil Broughton.
“We want to get to the bottom of what happened. If you have any information – no matter how small – please contact us.”
