Tragedy in Oxted: Toddler Dies After Horror Crash
The family of three-year-old Callan Hornegold have been left heartbroken after he died in a devastating collision in Oxted on Sunday, 2 June. Callan was described by loved ones as a “beautifully wild, loving and funny little boy”.
Family Pays Emotional Tribute
Callan’s family said: “On Sunday afternoon, our family suffered the most horrendous loss of our beautifully wild, loving and funny little boy. There are no words to begin to describe the pain that we are feeling.
“We are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support and love that we have been shown. We also want to thank the paramedics and medical staff who did their very best for Callan. We have a very long road ahead and respectfully ask to grieve in private.”
Collision Details
Police were called at around 10.40am to The Hollies estate in Hurst Green following reports of a crash involving a white Mercedes Sprinter box van. It’s believed Callan was riding a skateboard at the time.
Emergency services, including ambulance and air ambulance crews, rushed to the scene. Callan was taken to East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, but was sadly pronounced dead at 12.05pm.
Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
Police are continuing their investigation and urgently appeal for witnesses. Anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to call 101 quoting incident reference PR/P19123167.
