Police responded swiftly to a late-night shooting near garages on Barrowdale Road, close to Spragg House Lane, just after 10pm on Wednesday, 27 October. Two 13-year-old boys were injured during the incident and were taken to hospital for treatment.

One boy was admitted to Royal Stoke University Hospital, while the other was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Thankfully, neither boy’s injuries are believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Forensic teams are currently combing the area for evidence as detectives continue their investigation into the shooting.

Detective Inspector Pete Goodwin from CID stated, “Detectives are working tirelessly to establish exactly what happened and who is responsible. I’m appealing for anyone with information or who saw what happened to get in touch with us as soon as possible, as they may have vital information.”

He added, “If you live nearby, please check your CCTV. If you were driving in the area around 10pm last night, check your dashcam footage. Extra officers will patrol the area to offer reassurance.”
