Police have identified the woman found dead in Hambledon on Monday as 50-year-old Joanna Thompson. The keen runner was discovered in Vicarage Lane, prompting a murder investigation.
A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of Joanna’s murder. The suspect is currently being held under the Mental Health Act while inquiries continue.
Hampshire Police confirmed that a post-mortem examination revealed Joanna died from a stab wound to the neck. Her grieving family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
