A14 Shut After Serious Crash Between Junction 2 and 3 in Northamptonshire

The A14 is completely closed both ways between Junction 2 (Kelmarsh) and Junction 3 (Rothwell) following a major collision. Northamptonshire Police and emergency services are at the scene. Expect heavy delays on all routes heading towards the closed stretch.

Hit the Diversions: Stay Clear of the Chaos

To keep traffic moving, official diversions are in place for all vehicles. Follow the signs to avoid getting stuck in gridlock.

Westbound Drivers – Follow the Hollow Circle

  • Exit at Junction 3 and take the third exit onto the A6 northbound.
  • Pass Braybrooke and Harborough Road roundabouts, then reach Market Harborough’s Catalyst Roundabout.
  • Take the first exit onto the A4304 Rockingham Road.
  • At the A4304/A508 junction, turn left onto the A508 Kettering Road.
  • Drive through Great Oxendon and Kelmarsh, then rejoin the A14 at Junction 2.

Eastbound Drivers – Follow the Solid Diamond

  • Exit at Junction 2, then turn left onto the A508 Harborough Road.
  • Continue through Kelmarsh and Great Oxendon to Market Harborough.
  • Turn right at the A508/A4304 junction onto Springfield Street.
  • At Caterpillar Roundabout, take the fourth exit onto A6 southbound.
  • Pass Braybrooke and Harborough Road roundabouts before rejoining the A14 at Junction 3.

HGV Drivers – Special Routes Apply

Heavy goods vehicles have separate diversion routes via Market Harborough Town Centre and Airfield Business Park roundabouts. For full details, check out the National Highways website.
