Mystery Woman Found Dead Off Lyme Regis Coast

Detectives are hunting for answers after a woman’s body was pulled from the sea near Lyme Regis.

Dorset Police were alerted at 10.48am on Monday 19 April 2021 by the Coastguard, reporting a female body discovered about a mile east of Lyme Regis harbour.

The woman was recovered with the help of the Coastguard and RNLI crews. Police say there’s nothing suspicious about her death, but she remains unidentified.

She is described as white, aged 40-50s, wearing black Skechers trainers, black jeans, a pink top with red stripes, and a dark blue rain jacket. She also had stud earrings and glasses.

Detectives Urge Public to Step Forward

“This is a very sad incident and we are keen to identify the woman involved as soon as possible so her loved ones can be made aware,” said Detective Inspector Kate Lill of Weymouth CID.

“We have received no missing person reports or welfare concerns matching her. We believe she’d been in the water less than 24 hours before discovery.

“If you saw anyone near the water in matching clothes or have seen abandoned vehicles in the area, please come forward.”
