Blaze Tears Through The Elephants Head Outbuilding
A fierce fire tore through an outbuilding at The Elephants Head, a 15th Century English pub in Hook Green, in the early hours of Friday morning. The structure, part of the pub’s dining area, was reduced to a smouldering ruin after being engulfed in flames.
Massive Fire Response From Kent Fire Brigade
Kent Fire and Rescue scrambled five fire engines, a water carrier, and 40 firefighters to the scene. They battled the blaze using hose reels and jets, working quickly to prevent the fire from spreading.
Historic Pub Saved From Devastation
Miraculously, the firefighters stopped the inferno reaching the main pub building, a cherished venue dating back to 1858. However, the outbuilding’s wooden and tin structure was totally destroyed, leaving a mangled mess behind.
Investigation Underway
Kent Fire and Rescue have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze. The local community hopes for answers as they rally around their treasured pub.
