Wiltshire Police are on the hunt for two brazen burglars who smashed their way into a Corsham Co-Op using a most unusual weapon – an elephant-shaped garden ornament.

Just after 4.25am on November 18, a white Audi screeched into the Martingate Co-Op car park. Two crooks jumped out and smashed a shop window with a quirky garden elephant statue before grabbing cigarettes from the till and making a quick getaway.

The suspects fled the scene around 4.32am, heading off towards Bath Road.

Wiltshire Police want to track down the missing garden elephant, which is the key to cracking this oddball crime. Officers are desperate for anyone who recognises the garden statue or has information about the raid to come forward.

To help nab these crooks, email shaun.redmond@wiltshire.police.uk referencing log number 22 from November 18. Alternatively, call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Every tip helps Wiltshire Police catch these daring thieves and keep the community safe.
