Channel 4’s Krishnan Guru-Murthy Caught Slurring Minister Off-Air – Suspended for a Week!

Off-Air Outburst Sparks Fury

Veteran broadcaster Krishnan Guru-Murthy let rip behind the scenes after a “robust interview” with Northern Ireland Minister of State Steve Baker. Footage from another broadcast captured the Channel 4 anchor muttering a shocking insult, branding Mr Baker a “c***” in what the broadcaster called an “unguarded moment.”

Apology Issued, But Suspension Follows

Guru-Murthy has since apologised directly to Steve Baker. The minister accepted the apology on Twitter, saying, “I appreciate you apologising. Thank you very much.”

Channel 4 responded swiftly, stating, “Channel 4 has a strict code of conduct for all its employees, including its programming teams and on-air presenters, and takes any breaches seriously.”

As a result, Guru-Murthy has been suspended for a week. Due to pre-booked leave, he won’t be back on air until November 4th.
