Man Found Dead on Tracks Near 1 Central Station

Emergency services were scrambled to the railway line near 1 Central station at 6.48am on 4 December 2020 after reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics arrived quickly but sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Seek Witnesses to Tragic Incident

Officers are working to identify the man and piece together what happened. Detective Chief Inspector Paul Langley said: “We are still at a very early stage of our investigation, and are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances behind this man’s sad death.”

He added that it’s believed the man accessed the tracks from a nearby footbridge.

Who Was the Man on the Footbridge?

The victim is described as aged between 30 and 40, with dark hair and a beard. At the time, he was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a black hooded top.

Detectives are urging anyone who saw him on the footbridge or in the area early that morning to get in touch immediately.
