A tragic crash occurred on the A27 near Chichester at 11.40pm on Wednesday, 10 February. A black Volkswagen Golf heading east towards Chichester was involved in a serious collision.
The 25-year-old driver from Havant died instantly at the scene. The passenger, a 19-year-old also from Havant, sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.
The A27 is expected to remain closed in both directions between Fishbourne and Emsworth roundabouts for several hours while police carry out their investigation. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.
Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Officers are particularly interested in dash cam footage showing the crash or the Volkswagen Golf’s movements prior to the collision. They are also keen to speak to the driver of a red Audi A3, who may have vital information related to the incident.
