Teenager Dies in Horror A27 Smash Near Wilmington
An 18-year-old man has tragically died following a savage two-car crash on the A27 near Wilmington. The fatal collision occurred just before 11pm on Tuesday, 30 September, between Wilmington and Polegate. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but the young driver from Heathfield was pronounced dead on arrival.
Second Driver Seriously Injured, Road Closed Overnight
The other driver, a 26-year-old man from eastbourne/" title="Eastbourne" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Eastbourne, suffered serious injuries and is currently in hospital. The A27 was closed overnight between Polegate and the Drusillas roundabout while police investigated the scene. The road has since reopened to traffic.
Sussex Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Sussex Police have launched a plea for anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area around the crash time to come forward.
“We are carrying out a full investigation to establish the circumstances of this tragic incident. We ask anyone who was travelling along this part of the A27 that evening to check their dashcams and contact us if they have any footage that could help.”
Witnesses are urged to report any information online or call 101 quoting Operation Medford. Every snippet of information could be vital in cracking the case and uncovering what happened.
