A two-year-old girl is in hospital with serious facial injuries after a brutal, unprovoked dog attack in Rustington’s Brookfield Park. The shocking incident happened around 3:30pm on Sunday, June 15.

Terrier-Type Dog Bites Toddler Multiple Times

Sussex Police say the little girl was mauled by a small, dark-coloured terrier-type dog that was roaming the park alone – no owner or handler was seen at the scene. The child suffered wounds to her nose, lips, and cheek and is now receiving urgent medical care.

Police Issue Urgent Appeal for Witnesses

Officers have launched an investigation and are desperate for anyone who might recognise the dog or know who owns it to come forward. No one was spotted with the dog during the attack, sparking serious safety concerns among locals.

“Did you witness the incident? Do you have any information that could help identify the dog or its owner?” Sussex Police pleaded in a statement.
