Massive New Industrial Hub Kicks Off at Immingham

Helm @ Immingham: Phase One Hits the Ground

Construction has officially begun on a giant new industrial and logistics centre at Immingham. Associated British Ports (ABP) has started work on the first phase of its Helm @ Immingham project.

The sprawling 227-acre site sits right by the A180, between Grimsby and the busy Immingham port complex. This initial stage will add over 100,000 sq ft of industrial space, with North East Lincolnshire Council already giving the go-ahead.

Eight Brand-New Units for All Business Sizes

ABP plans to build eight units ranging from small starter workshops to large industrial facilities. These spaces are designed to support a wide range of sectors, including engineering, manufacturing, energy, logistics, and port-related services.

“We’re set to offer versatile options to boost local industry and support the port’s growth,” an ABP spokesperson said.

Vision for a Commercial Giant with Green Credentials

When complete, Helm @ Immingham could feature more than 1.1 million sq ft of commercial property and 90 acres of open storage, perfect for automotive and logistics firms.

Eco-friendly features are also part of the plan, with renewable energy solutions and biodiversity improvements lined up to meet ABP’s sustainability goals.

ABP has partnered with agents JLL, Gent Visick, and PPH to market the new units as they boost their property portfolio.

Prime Land Ready to Fuel Local Growth

  • The site has been earmarked for industrial use for over a decade.
  • Planning permission includes access roads and industrial operations.
  • Previously, the land was farmland.

This major development promises a surge in jobs and fresh business opportunities, putting Immingham firmly on the map as a key industrial hotspot for years ahead.
