Trains grind to a halt after man hit by train between Staplehurst and Marden

Emergency chaos on the rails

Emergency services rushed to the railway line between Staplehurst and Marden at around 9.40pm tonight after reports a man was struck by a train. Both lines are currently blocked, causing major disruption as crews work at the scene.

Trains cancelled and services diverted

Southeastern Rail has confirmed that services between Ashford International and Tonbridge are either cancelled or diverted. Passengers are urged to check for updates and expect longer journey times.

Police and paramedics on-site

British Transport Police and paramedics remain at the scene. The condition of the man involved has not yet been disclosed.

“We are working closely with emergency services following reports of a person being struck by a train between Staplehurst and Marden. Services in the area are severely disrupted while the incident is dealt with,” said a Southeastern spokesperson.
