A massive fire has ripped through the roof of Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee School on Kennet Road, Maida Vale. The London Fire Brigade responded at 1:07 PM with eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters battling the blaze.

Station Commander Hardeep Dale, who is leading the operation, confirmed: “The school was safely evacuated before we arrived. We’re working closely with partner agencies to support everyone affected.”

Fire crews are using two 32-metre turntable ladders as water towers to douse the flames from above.

Paramedics and police are on the scene assisting with evacuation and maintaining security in the area. One woman is currently being treated at the scene for injuries sustained during the incident.

Kennet Road and surrounding streets remain closed, causing significant traffic delays. Authorities are urging local residents to avoid the area to allow emergency teams to work more efficiently and safely.

Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee School provides education for children aged 4 to 19 with severe learning difficulties. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation.

The London Fire Brigade will continue to update the public as more information becomes available. Residents are advised to follow official LFB channels and local news outlets for live updates.
