A motorcyclist was injured in a hit-and-run incident on the slip road at Junction 8 of the M20, around 8.20am on Wednesday 12 July 2023.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene, but the van involved had already fled the area. The motorcyclist was treated for leg and arm injuries and has since been released from hospital.

Later that day, a 59-year-old man from Ashford was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was subsequently released on bail pending further investigation.

PC Rachel Burley of Kent Police stated, “Before the collision, both vehicles are understood to have travelled along the A20 from Harrietsham towards the M20.” She added, “We urge anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.”
