National Highways has completed a major upgrade on the A27 between Firle and Polegate. This project aims to reduce congestion, improve connectivity, and enhance safety for all road users.

A key feature of the upgrade is a new 16km shared-use path, which is now open to the public.

To celebrate the completion, National Highways is inviting local residents to participate in a naming contest for the brand-new bridge that spans the Cuckmere River. The organisation is encouraging names inspired by the local area or notable features along the route.

The winner will receive a certificate and the honour of having their chosen name displayed prominently on the bridge for everyone to see.

Those interested in entering the contest should visit the official National Highways entry page and submit their suggested bridge name before the deadline of 5pm on Friday, May 12, 2023.

Don’t miss this opportunity to leave your mark on a significant local landmark!
