A man was rushed to hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a collision involving a van and a pedestrian near Tesco on Leybourne Way, Larkfield.

The incident occurred at 8:15am when police were called to the scene. Ambulance crews arrived promptly, providing treatment to the injured man before transporting him to hospital for further care.

A Kent Police spokesperson confirmed that the driver of the van stopped immediately following the crash and is cooperating with authorities.

Kent County Council Highways has reported that Leybourne Way is currently closed from the A228 Castle Way junction to New Hythe Lane and Bellingham Way as a result of the incident.

Despite the road closures, Tesco remains open. However, motorists can only exit the Tesco site by turning right towards the M20 motorway.

Traffic queues are building quickly in the area as emergency services manage the scene. Drivers are advised to expect significant delays and to consider alternative routes to avoid the congestion caused by the road closures.
