Tragedy in Sheffield: Eleven-year-old Elemie Wainwright has died after a horrific crash in Mosborough. Her devastated family have paid a heart-wrenching tribute and are pleading for public help while police hunt answers.

Little Girl’s Life Cut Short

The tragic smash happened on Thursday 12 June at the junction of High Street and Station Road. A white Ford Transit van was involved. Emergency services raced to the scene and rushed Elemie to hospital, but she sadly passed away shortly after.

‘The Kindest, Most Beautiful Baby Girl’

Elemie’s family released a touching statement on Saturday, sharing a smiling photo of their daughter. They said:

“Our baby girl, our life and soul, with the biggest smile, the biggest heart. You were the kindest, most sweetest, most beautiful baby girl.”

They added:

“On Thursday 12 June our hearts shattered into a million pieces.”

Police Make Arrest, Seek Crucial Witnesses

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and other traffic offences. He is fully cooperating and has been released on bail as inquiries continue.

Police are urgently appealing for anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward. The family pleaded:

“Any information, no matter how small, may be the missing piece to the answers we need. As parents, we need answers for our baby girl. Please, look at her photo, look at her smile—it’s the least our baby deserves.”
