Deadly Crash Shuts Down A11 Near Elveden

Tragedy struck this afternoon on the southbound A11 between Elveden and Barton Mills. Police were called at 12.10pm on Monday, 30 May, after a horrific three-vehicle smash involving a white Maxus flatbed, a red Range Rover Sport, and a Scania lorry.

Two Dead at Scene

Emergency services, including ambulance and Suffolk Fire and Rescue, rushed to the scene. Sadly, both the driver and passenger in the Maxus flatbed were pronounced dead at the site. The crash forced the closure of the A11 in both directions.

Road Closures and Witness Appeal

The northbound carriageway reopened around 6pm, but the southbound side remains closed with diversions in place. Police are appealing for witnesses. If you were driving nearby with a dashcam, please check your footage.
