UK’s Most Wanted John McCann Linked to Chilling Cheshire Abduction
Police have launched a high-stakes manhunt after two women were abducted in Congleton, Cheshire.
Drama Unfolds in Congleton Town Centre
At 6.45pm on Sunday, 5 May, two women were forced into a black Fiat Punto right in the heart of Congleton. Officers spotted the vehicle shortly after and gave chase.
The pursuit ended on Obelisque Way when the Punto smashed into another car. The driver bolted on foot, abandoning the terrified women inside.
John McCann: Dangerous Fugitive on the Loose
Police suspect 34-year-old Joseph McCann, wanted by the Metropolitan Police, is tied to the incident. McCann is described as a muscular 5ft 10ins man with blue eyes and either a bald or closely shaved blond head. He sports a distinctive tattoo of the name ‘Bobbie’ across his stomach and has a short light-coloured beard.
“McCann is a dangerous individual and I would advise anyone who sees him not to approach him but instead call 999 immediately,” warned Superintendent Sarah Pengelly.
Intense Police Operation Underway
There is a heavy police presence in Congleton, with road checks set up in and out of the town as officers race to track McCann down.
The two abducted women were fortunately not harmed but remain extremely shaken. They are receiving support from specially trained officers.
