Police Hunt Woman Holding ‘Hezbollah Are Not Terrorists’ Sign at London Protest

Metropolitan Police are on the hunt after a woman and several others were spotted waving signs claiming “Hezbollah are not terrorists” during a massive pro-Palestinian march in London on Saturday.

Thousands Rally Against Israel as Police Make Arrests

The protest, organised by the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign and others, drew thousands to the streets in Bedford Square before marching through Russell Square to Whitehall. Demonstrators voiced anger over Israel’s treatment of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, almost a year after Hamas’ deadly October 7, 2023, attack that killed 1,200 people.

During the rally, the woman holding the controversial Hezbollah sign was heard declaring, “All Shia are Hezbollah. All Shia around the world are Hezbollah,” and branding Israel a terrorist organisation. Other inflammatory signs included “I love Hezbollah” and placards comparing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler. Some even carried banners reading, “Zionism causes Polio” and “They will study this like we studied the Holocaust.”

Police Crack Down on Proscribed Organisation Support

The Met has arrested 16 people during the demonstration and is actively seeking to identify the woman and others linked to the Hezbollah signs. Police warned that supporting proscribed organisations like Hezbollah is a criminal offence in the UK, and those involved face arrest.

Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward and assist the investigation.

Protest Tenses with Clashes and Counter-Demonstrations

The event also featured chants of “Ceasefire now,” “Palestine will be free,” and “Hands off Lebanon” from pro-Palestinian supporters. Counter-protests led to multiple police interventions to stop clashes.

This incident follows recent terror convictions connected to pro-Palestinian protests, including three women found guilty last October after displaying images linked to terror tactics used by Hamas.
