Police are investigating a fatal fire that broke out on Shorncliffe Road in Folkestone, Kent. The incident occurred at around 10:30am on Thursday, 17 February 2022, near the junction with Christ Church Road.

Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene after reports of a fire at a residential property. Emergency crews, including the South East Coast Ambulance Service, attended and battled the flames. Tragically, a person was found deceased inside the property.

The circumstances surrounding the fire are currently being treated as suspicious. Detectives have launched a full investigation to determine the cause of the blaze and the events leading up to it.
