Tragic Crash Claims Life of Young Motorcyclist Ryan Bowyer
Ryan Bowyer, 27, from Southwater, died in a smash with a Range Rover on the roads near Strood Green. The horror crash happened around 7.55pm on Wednesday 7 July, as Ryan rode his black Kawasaki northeast through the area.
Heartbreaking Family Tribute
Despite desperate efforts from passersby and paramedics, Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family said: “It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that we announce the loss of our son, brother, partner and dear friend Ryan Bowyer in a tragic road traffic collision on 7 July 2021. Ryan was a shining light, the brightest of stars to family and many others. We ask for privacy as we come to terms with this terrible loss.”
Driver Arrested, Released Under Investigation
The driver of the blue Range Rover, a 55-year-old man from Wisborough Green, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs. He has since been released pending further investigation.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers continue to investigate how the fatal crash unfolded. Anyone who saw the collision or caught it on dash cam, or noticed the driving behaviour of either vehicle beforehand, is urged to get in touch.
