Man jailed for savage attack on parking officers outside primary school

A thug who knocked one civil enforcement officer unconscious and stamped on another’s head after they issued a parking ticket has been locked up for over two years.

Parking ticket sparks violent rampage

Rodall Misuri lost it after officers slapped a ticket on a car parked dangerously on double yellow lines outside Purfleet Primary School during the morning school run on 22 November 2018. The vehicle belonged to his partner.

As the officers moved in, Misuri threatened them before launching a brutal assault. He punched one officer, knocking him to the ground where he slammed his head and then ruthlessly stamped and pummeled him. Shocking dashcam and bodycam footage captured the vicious attack.

Brutal assault stopped by quick-thinking public

Members of the public tried to intervene, but Misuri wasn’t done. He landed a punch that knocked a second officer unconscious before being tackled and restrained. Despite this, he managed to drive off the scene.

The first officer suffered a fractured eye socket, while the second needed stitches. The violent brawl shook the community and highlighted the dangers enforcement officers face.

Justice served at Basildon Crown Court

Arrested the next day, Misuri, 31, of Fothergill Close, London E13, admitted charges including grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, and criminal damage.

On 24 August at Basildon Crown Court, he was sentenced to two years and four months behind bars.

“No one should go to work and be assaulted. It is never acceptable or tolerable,” said Det. Constable Dan Stevens, who led the investigation. “Misuri’s brutal attack was triggered by a parking ticket and left officers with serious injuries.”

He praised the public who stepped in during the assault, saying their courage likely prevented worse harm.

Council leader condemns nasty attack

Thurrock Council Leader Cllr Rob Gledhill slammed the “vicious and unprovoked” attack and praised the officers’ bravery in protecting schoolchildren’s safety.

“Justice has been served, and I hope this sends a clear message: anyone assaulting our staff will face the full weight of the law,” he said. “Thanks also to Essex Police for their swift, effective response.”
