Stephanie Bowie Jailed for Brutal New Year’s Day Murder
Stephanie Bowie, 29, has been found guilty of murdering 21-year-old Darren Russell outside his family home in Erskine on New Year’s Day 2021. The High Court in Glasgow convicted her on Thursday, June 9, 2022, of murder, possession of a bladed article, and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
Today, July 7, 2022, Bowie was sentenced at Stirling High Court for her deadly attack that claimed Darren’s life on his doorstep.

“Stephanie Bowie is now dealing with the ramifications of her actions,” said Chief Inspector Christopher Nisbet, Senior Investigating Officer.
“This sentence sends a strong message: violence and carrying weapons are completely unacceptable. While it cannot undo the past, I hope it brings some closure to Darren’s family and friends.”
