A former Leicestershire Special Police Constable, Jamie Wallace, 21, has pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children. Wallace admitted the offences during his appearance at Leicester Magistrates Court on April 8.
Wallace was arrested in October 2023 while still serving as a Special Police Constable. Police seized two mobile phones from him, leading to a shocking discovery of illegal material.
An investigation uncovered a disturbing collection of images, including 122 Category A images (the most serious), 217 Category B images, and 112 Category C images. These offences were committed over a five-year period from December 2018 to October 2023.
Chief Constable David Sandall commented on the case, stating, “This offending is horrific. Our online abuse team acted swiftly to arrest Wallace and conduct a full investigation. Thanks to their work, he was left with no option but to plead guilty.”
Following his arrest, Wallace was suspended immediately and later resigned from his position. A gross misconduct hearing held in July 2024 concluded that he would have been dismissed without notice if he had still been serving.
Wallace has been released on bail and is scheduled to face sentencing at Leicester Crown Court on Tuesday, May 26.
