Callum Denley, a former Wiltshire Police officer from Malmesbury aged 20, has pleaded guilty to several charges involving indecent images of children. The plea was formally entered today at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.
Following the discovery of the offences, Denley was immediately suspended by Wiltshire Police. He subsequently resigned from the police force before his court appearance.
Denley faces five serious charges, including making indecent images of children across Categories A, B, and C, with Category A representing the most severe level. Additionally, he is charged with possessing an extreme pornographic image and possessing a prohibited image of a child.
The offences were uncovered during an investigation that led to the seizure of disturbing images from Denley.
Wiltshire Police acted swiftly upon learning of the allegations. The force suspended Denley immediately and accepted his resignation prior to his court hearing. A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police stated: “As soon as these allegations came to light, the officer was immediately suspended. He resigned prior to appearing in court. The force is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional behaviour, and any breach of these standards will be thoroughly investigated and dealt with appropriately.”
