On Sunday, 21 March, just after 9.30pm, a woman walking down Sunridge Avenue in Luton was attacked by a stranger. The man suddenly grabbed her arm and struck her in the face as she tried to break free, leaving her with a minor injury.

Witnesses describe the attacker as around 5’10″, stocky, and in his 30s. He was wearing dark clothes and fled the scene in a dark saloon car.

Detective Constable Michael Wallis from the Police Crime Investigation Team has launched an urgent appeal for witnesses to come forward. He said, “We have been pursuing lines of enquiry and need the public’s help. If you were in the area and saw anyone matching this description or noticed anything suspicious, please get in touch.”

Members of the public can help by reporting sightings or information via the police’s online reporting centre, calling the police on 101 quoting reference 40/14295/21, or contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Your tip could be crucial in bringing the attacker to justice.
