Man Arrested After Serious Collision in Heanor
A man in his 20s has been arrested following a serious crash that left a woman in her 70s badly injured.
Crash Details: Pedestrian Hit by Blue Vauxhall Corsa
The smash happened at 7.25pm on 22 December in Hardy Barn, near Heanor. A blue Vauxhall Corsa, travelling from Ilkeston to Heanor, struck the elderly pedestrian.
The woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a critical condition.
Driver Arrested and Released on Bail
The driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. He has since been released on police bail pending further investigation.
Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward
Officers want to hear from anyone who saw the crash or was driving along the A6007 between Ilkeston and Heanor between 7.10pm and 7.30pm. Dashcam footage capturing the blue Vauxhall Corsa could be crucial.
