Ex-Hospital Worker Jailed for 13 Years in Shocking Whiston Hospital Rape Case

Sidharth Nair, 29, a former hospital employee, has been sentenced to 13 years behind bars for rape and sexual assault. The attack took place at Whiston Hospital on the evening of January 30. Nair pleaded guilty to rape and four counts of sexual assault at Liverpool Crown Court, leading to the hefty sentence handed down today.

Detective Inspector Condemns Attack, Hails Swift Arrest

Detective Inspector Yoseph Al-Ramadhan called the crime “shocking” and highlighted its devastating impact on the victim and her family. He said, “We hope that today’s sentence brings her some sense of justice as she continues to recover.”

DI Al-Ramadhan praised the prompt police action: “Thankfully, we were able to detain and arrest Nair very quickly. His considerable prison term should allow his victim to start moving forward.”
