Police swooped on a home in Worksop following a brutal hammer attack on a man inside the property. The victim sustained facial injuries, which are not life-threatening.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on Friday, 29 April 2022, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has since been released on conditional bail as the investigation continues. This is the third arrest linked to the case.
Earlier, two men aged 42 and 20 were arrested shortly after the attack on 15 April 2022. Both were held on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and have also been released on conditional bail.
Detective Sergeant Georgina Gallagher of Nottinghamshire Police said, “It is extremely important that everyone knows that this type of behaviour is completely unacceptable. We will always do everything in our power to keep this violence off our streets.”
Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Witnesses can contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 351 of 15 April 2022. Information can also be reported anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
