Police make major drug bust with £3,400 cash haul and two BMWs seized

Early morning swoop in Tunbridge Wells

The Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team struck gold during a dawn raid on Friday 13 November 2020. A search warrant at a Bartley Mill Road address uncovered a stash of drugs and nearly £1,400 in cash.

Linked Eastbourne address yields more cash and drugs

Following the initial raid, officers swooped on a related property in Eastbourne, recovering an additional £2,020 and more illegal substances. Two luxury BMWs were impounded as part of the ongoing investigation.

Two men charged and remanded in custody

Cosmo Budd, 23, from Heathfield Road, Burwash Weald, and 25-year-old Hussain Alwari from Ashford Road, Eastbourne, were arrested. Both face charges of possessing cocaine with intent to supply and being involved in cocaine distribution.

They appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 14 November and were remanded in custody.

The duo are due back at Maidstone Crown Court on 14 December as the case builds.
