Teen Thug Jailed for 14 Years After Armed Carjack Spree
A heartless 17-year-old thug has been locked up for 14 years after a terrifying crime spree that included armed robberies and carjackings. Jobi Nembhard brazenly pointed a handgun at a 79-year-old man during a chilling break-in, stealing a top-of-the-range Audi S4 Quattro in Solihull.
Armed Robberies and Violent Carjacking
Officers caught Nembhard driving the stolen Audi in Lode Lane just 10 days after smashing his way into a home on Chester Road, Castle Bromwich. The masked attacker threatened his victims with what police believe was an imitation firearm, later finding Airsoft guns at his home.
Not stopping there, while out on bail for that robbery, Nembhard hit again. On 24 March, he demanded car keys at gunpoint in Kingshurst to steal a VW Golf GTi. Then on 1 April, in a terrifying attack on a couple in Castle Bromwich, he forced his way onto their driveway, threw the 60-year-old man to the ground breaking his hip, and stole their Mercedes AMG.
Quick-Fingered Guilty Verdict
Police later found Nembhard behind the wheel of a Seat Ibiza linked to other crime sprees in Bidford-on-Avon. His fingerprints were discovered on a BB gun found in the car.
“Nembhard showed himself to be a heartless criminal who was prepared to attack pensioners, and put them in fear for their lives,” said Detective Sergeant Adam Buzzard. “One of his victims suffered a broken hip after being thrown to the ground during a carjacking. I wish him well in his continued recovery, and support all victims who endured these traumatic ordeals.”
Despite denying all but dangerous driving, the jury quickly convicted Nembhard on every count in under two hours.
Lost Youth Behind Bars
Detective Sergeant Buzzard added: “He didn’t have much of a past record, just petty shoplifting. But these violent offences were on another level—home invasions and carjackings where victims feared live gunfire. He wasn’t making a profit either; all stolen cars were recovered.”
Now, Jobi Nembhard faces 14 years behind bars, losing what should have been the best years of his life to a trail of violence and fear.
