Midnight Smash-and-Grab Hits Lewes Antique Shop – £18k in Vintage Watches Stolen

Thief Targets Cliffe Antique Centre

In the early hours of Sunday, 4th December, around 3am, a brazen thief smashed the window of the Cliffe Antique Centre in Lewes. Their prize? A cabinet holding a collection of vintage watches.

£18,000 Worth of Timeless Treasures Vanish

All 12 watches inside the cabinet were stolen. Valued at around £18,000, these rare timepieces represented a significant loss for the shop. Notably, nothing else was touched during the break-in.

The shop issued a plea on social media: “One of the items is one of a kind so you won’t find another like them, so at some point we hope they will turn up.”

Police Launch Investigation

Sussex Police are asking anyone who spots these vintage watches to come forward. They’ve referenced serial 165 of 04/12 in connection with the case.
