Biker Dies in Horror Crash on 'Death Valley' A36
A biker tragically died this afternoon following a serious collision on the A36 near West Wellow. The major road was shut for over six hours as police investigated.
‘Flash Flooding and Thunderstorms Hit Scene’
Residents reported a fierce thunderstorm and flash flooding around the time of the crash. The A36 stretch is grimly nicknamed ‘Death Valley’ by locals, with nearly a dozen deaths in the last seven years.
Two-Vehicle Crash Under Investigation
The collision involved a motorbike and a car. Wiltshire and Hampshire Police launched a joint probe immediately after the crash, which happened near the junction of Stock Lane just after 5pm.
Wiltshire’s Collision Investigation Unit spent hours examining both vehicles at the scene.
Emergency Services Scramble to Save Rider
- Paramedics, police, and air ambulance crews poured in to help.
- The biker was airlifted to hospital by the Wiltshire Air Ambulance but sadly passed away later.
