Firearms officers descended on East Kilbride’s Mount Cameron Drive South on Sunday, 9 March 2025, after a disturbance sparked panic at around 1.20pm. Two men, both 48, were swiftly arrested as police moved in.

Police Scotland confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incident but said the deployment of firearms officers signalled a perceived threat. A spokesperson said: “We responded to a disturbance in Mount Cameron Drive South. Two males were arrested, and enquiries are ongoing.”
